Pool Acid Wash Cost Calculator
Pick the pool’s condition, its rough size, and whether it has been acid washed before, and this gives you the range a typical phone quote would land in. It is built from the same prices published on the pricing page, it does not ask for an email, and it will sometimes tell you that you do not need the service.
Two things worth knowing before you use it.
The drain and refill is most of the base cost. Acid is cheap. What you are paying for is the labour, the sequencing, and getting the water back in fast, because an empty pool in Mesa sun is a liability rather than a clean slate. That is covered on the drained and now cracked page.
An acid wash is a finite resource. Each one removes a thin layer of plaster, and a pool commonly has around five in its life before the surface is too thin to keep stripping. That is why the calculator asks about history, and why chemical fixes should come first. If your plaster is rough and chalky, the honest answer is a replaster.
Once you have a range, the problem pages will tell you whether the condition you picked actually calls for a wash at all.
What will my pool cost to strip and refill?
Four questions. The range comes from the table on the pricing page, so it is roughly the number you would hear on the phone before anyone looks at the pool.
An acid wash removes a thin layer of plaster, so a pool has a limited number in its life. If you answered three or more prior washes, the surface needs checking before anyone quotes one, and chalking plaster calls for resurfacing rather than washing.
Send this estimate to the quote formAn estimate, not a quote. The firm number comes after a look at the plaster, and it should not move after that.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do these numbers come from?
The published pricing page: $300 to $800 for a standard acid wash, $700 to $1,200 or more for a large or luxury pool, $250 to $600 for a green pool cleanup, $200 to $450 for a drain and clean with no acid, and $200 to $500 for calcium and scale work. The calculator starts from the drain and refill and adds the range that matches your pool's condition.
How accurate is it?
Close enough to budget with. Size and condition are most of the price, and both are things you can answer. What it cannot see is the plaster surface itself, which is the one thing that can change the recommendation entirely.
Do I have to give an email to see the result?
No. No gate and no signup. The range updates as you change the dropdowns, and sending it to the quote form is optional.
Why does it sometimes suggest I do not need an acid wash?
Because often you do not. A green pool you can see the bottom of usually comes back with chemicals. A calcium ring on the tile is scale work, not a plaster strip. And a pool with chalking plaster needs resurfacing, where acid makes things worse. Selling an unnecessary acid wash spends one of a finite number the pool has.
